CSIRO Great Barrier Reef SELTMP Power BI Dashboards

The "Power BI and Data Analytics for Enviros" meetup group is all about sharing tips, tricks and hacks for analysing, visualising and communicating environmental data. The purpose of this blog is to summarise the key take-aways from the sessions, to help with sharing knowledge, empowering others and creating a strong data culture across our community.

Session Summary

For our September 2022 session, we were excited to have Dr. Petina Pert from CSIRO, presenting alongside Alice Drummond and Daniel Marsh-Patrick from DiscoverEI on the Great Barrier Reef SELTMP Power BI Dashboards. Petina provided context to the project and the SELTMP survey results for 2021, and how they compare to previous years.

Alice and Daniel then jumped into the Power BI file, focusing on various data storytelling techniques used, some tips for visualising survey data and the Deneb Power BI custom visual used in the report.

The full recording session is available on our YouTube channel above, and you can also interact with the public Power BI report here: https://research.csiro.au/seltmp/explore-dashboards-here/
