How to Get Started using Power BI: A crash-course in Power BI from data import, data modelling, calculations (DAX), visualisations and collaboration, so you can apply to your own projects back in the office.
How to Streamline Data Processing: Learn Power Query fundamentals, how to automate data processing tasks such as collating large volumes of modelling output and CSV files together, and create a relational data model.
How to Visualise Time-Series and Trends: An introduction into data visualisation, where you'll create interactive time-series charts and matrices to display trends in water supply and demand.
How to Compute Interactive Water Balances: Building on the DAX introduction, you’ll learn how to use measure branching to compute interactive water balances of inflows, outflows and change in storage.
How to Perform Scenario Analysis: You'll explore different applications of ‘What If’ parameters to dynamically assess the climate change and population growth impacts on water supply.
How to Create Interactive Maps: Learn how to create interactive point and polygon maps using the MapBox custom visual, to show spatial distributions of water supply and demand.
How to Create Interactive Decision Support Tools: You'll learn how to communicate insights at a glance using conditional formatting, tooltips and infographic style reporting.
How to Bring it all Together in Interactive Dashboards: We’ll bring together all the individual pieces into an interactive dashboard, and explain concepts such as edit interactions, tooltips, bookmarks, drill-down, to create a holistic water reporting tool.
How to Share and Report Online: An introduction to the secure Power BI online service, where we’ll publish our water dashboard to the cloud, and show you how to embed your report in SharePoint, Websites, and the Mobile App.

Virtual (Public): Two-day training, with structured group learning, exercises and Q&A sessions. Course delivered in Zoom, and available to cater for different time-zones.
Virtual (In-House): Two-day training (14 hours of content), with structured group learning, exercises and Q&A sessions for up to 8 participants from your organisation. This allows us to tailor the content of the course to meet your organisations needs, skill levels and areas of interest. You also have the option to mix-and-match content from any of our other Power BI training courses, and select Date / Times to suit your group.
As part of our course, you will receive the following:
Power BI Introductory Videos (Pre-Work) : A series of short videos and example PBIX files will be provided to be completed before the course. These are designed to get everyone up to speed on the basics of Power BI, so we can all make the most of the 2 day training, and focus on the exciting things!
Power BI Files (PBIX): All Power BI files and datasets used in the course will be provided, where individual PBIX files are provided for each module, so you’ll never fall behind.
Power BI Cheat Sheets and Check Lists: Summary cheat sheets and checklists will be provided for each module, to help you follow along and are a fantastic resource when applying Power BI to your own projects!
Ready-made, Interactive Water Reports: Our four water dashboards that we create together will provide you with an excellent example, directly applicable to your industry, which you can adapt for your own projects.
Power BI Course e-Certificate: On the completion of the course, all participants will receive an e-Certificate to celebrate your achievements. This is a valuable addition to your profession development and CVs!
